This month the Economic Developers Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (EDANL) held its Annual Conference in Twillingate.
“The EDANL conference is an opportunity for economic development practitioners from across the province to get together to share ideas, experiences, and stories,” said Kieran Hanley, EDANL’s President. “It’s a great professional development opportunity and usually happens to be a lot of fun too!”
The conference featured sessions focused on tourism and culture, diversity and inclusion, workforce and productivity, digital resources and security, and the green economy. An event agenda can be found here.
“Economic developers are the professionals that are helping to grow our communities,” said Hanley. “The community they serve could be a municipality or region, an industry or a sector, a government, or a network of like-minded businesses or individuals.” Hanley said that while the focus economic developers’ work may vary, many of the same skills, tools, and knowledge apply.
“The event was a great success and we were so happy that so many of members were able to participate and experience Twillingate at the same time.”
The event was sponsored by the NL Association of CBDCs, the Community Sector Council of NL, and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.
EDANL is a not-for-profit association that focuses on the training and professional development of Newfoundland and Labrador’s economic developers.
