This was international economic development week, and so it is a fitting time to celebrate the work that economic developers in Newfoundland and Labrador are doing day in and day out to build a better future for our communities, sectors, and the province at large!
In a moderated discussion, our three panelists will discuss the findings from their respective EDAC research papers (see below), explore areas of convergence and divergence between them, and indicate what may have changed since first writing them.
It has been a long time since EDANL members have had the opportunity to see one another live and in person! There is lots to catch up on, and lots of new ideas and experiences to share. Join us for a beverage of your choice and meet and mingle.
Hear how this social enterprise has been overcoming barriers, engaging community and bringing partners together with shared aim. We’ll also be talking about community impact and how we evaluate the economic benefits for a community/region.
Your new Board of Directors is at work planning activities and engagements for EDANL members in 2022 – and we need your input! As volunteers we can’t do all things, but we wanted to get an idea from you what you see as having the highest value:
“Economic developers are on the front lines of supporting Newfoundland and Labrador’s communities and industries,” said Kieran Hanley, EDANL’s newly elected President. “On behalf of EDANL’s members, this board is going to work hard over the next two years to provide them with whatever support and resources that we can to help them be the best that they can be.”
The Economic Developers Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (EDANL) announced the winners of the province’s Economic Development Awards of Excellence during its Annual Conference and AGM yesterday. The awards were sponsored by the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC).
