Nominations are now open for the 2022 Economic Development Awards of Excellence!

Nominations for 2022’s awards are due by Wednesday, November 16, 2022. Award categories include:

Community Project (w/ impact on populations below 3,000)
This award recognizes a project that has had a major economic development impact in a community or region. It rewards such things as strategic planning, BR&E, placemaking, sector development, tourism, community involvement etc. The basic assessment of proposals will focus on achievements in the context of the approach, original environment, challenges faced and economic or community impact.

Marketing (w/ impact on populations below 3,000)
This award recognizes marketing initiatives, campaigns or materials used for attracting, retaining and/or fostering economic or community development. It will reward communities or organizations for using marketing and communications to make a positive social or economic contribution locally, regionally or provincially.

Marketing (w/ impact on populations over 3,000)
This award recognizes marketing initiatives, campaigns or materials used for attracting, retaining and/or fostering economic or community development. It will reward communities or organizations for using marketing and communications to make a positive social or economic contribution locally, regionally or provincially.

Economic Developer of the Year
This award recognizes an Economic Development practitioner in Newfoundland and Labrador. It rewards excellence in the field of economic development in the context of economic or social contribution to the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Individuals who are engaged as a professional, technical, management or volunteer position in the field of economic development in Newfoundland and Labrador may be nominated.

Nominees do not have to meet all criteria for each of the award categories to be eligible. Please note supporting documents can be valuable in the awards evaluation process. If there any additional testimonials, newspaper clippings, photographs, or other related information that will enhance the submission, please attach to the form. If you have trouble attaching documents to the form, please email them to info@edanl.ca, noting the project in which it belongs.
