Micro-breweries are still relatively new for NL, but some of these businesses have had outsized economic development impacts. Theses businesses – which have popped up in unexpected places – have created jobs, tourism, and have served as anchors for their communities.
On May 28, 2026, EDANL presents a webinar featuring three trailblazers of the business: Alicia MacDonald (Port Rexton Brewing), Kim Sutton (Bay de Verde Brewing Company), and Christina Coady (Landwash Brewing).
These entrepreneurs are going to speak to their experiences in helping to build this new industry within the province. What supports did they receive along the way that proved critical? What barriers did they overcome and what challenges still remain? What role do they see themselves playing in communities and their sustainability?
